What is Global Competence?

Global Competence has four main components. First it is the ability to ask and investigate important questions that are both personal and global, such as who has access to clean water, what does equality mean to you or how does hunger impact learning. Empathy, or the awareness of other perspectives is the second component. By seeing the world from others' point of view, we are able to form a more respectful and inclusive world view. Third, global competence is the drive to communicate ideas, overcoming challenges of language, ideological, geographic and cultural barries. Lastly and importantly, global competence is the feeling of power to take action and transform the world for the better.
